Stinger Attachments offers skid steer equipment that streamlines numerous ranch management processes. While each attachment has unique capabilities, the products that provide the most specialized functionality on a ranch are our skid steer manure buckets. These attachments handle your dirty work when cleaning stalls or fertilizing pastures. A manure bucket is a hands-free solution for clearing, lifting, hauling or churning at the ranch.
At Stinger Attachments, we manufacture manure buckets that fit two categories — spear buckets and tine buckets. Manure spear buckets feature steel protrusions with pointed ends that pierce dense or hard piles. Manure tine buckets feature numerous closely spaced protrusions with slanted ends that can lodge into and lift looser piles.
The best skid steer attachment for work on a farm is a bale spear. Farmers move tons of hay between fields and barns throughout the year. A bale spear expedites the process by equipping a skid steer to move the hay.
A bale spear attachment features long, pointed shafts that extend outward from the front of the skid steer parallel to the ground. The pointed spears are for piercing hay bales. By attaching the bale spear tool to a skid steer’s loader arm, the machine can use its hydraulic force to lift bales that weigh thousands of pounds.
Hay spears are also versatile, offering utility outside of moving bales. Farmers can use hay spears for various property maintenance needs. The spears can grasp onto brush piles or support heavy materials from underneath. Owning a bale spear attachment allows farmers to efficiently move nearly any heavy or cumbersome material around the property.
Stinger Attachments manufactures an original line of bale spears for skid steers with extensive farm work capabilities. With models featuring two to four spears and weight capacities ranging from 3,500 pounds to 14,500 pounds, we offer skid steer solutions for dairy farms, arable farms, produce farms and more.
A wide range of skid steer attachments can boost efficiency and productivity in the forestry industry, such as tooth buckets, rock buckets, tree pullers and pallet forks. The Root and Rock Grapple (RRG) bucket from Stinger Attachments is perhaps the most valuable forestry skid steer attachment.
Equipping a skid steer with an RRG bucket augments its ability to push soil, dislodge rubble, chomp through roots and create a clear working path for the crew. The RRG bucket’s capabilities are essential during site preparation — a phase that can make or break the project’s efficiency.
Before a forestry crew can cut down trees and haul timber from the site, it must have a clear path for its vehicles and personnel to traverse. Skid steers are essential to the land-clearing process due to their agility and stability. They safely maneuver on land that would be too dangerous for other vehicles.
The RRG bucket is the ultimate site-clearing attachment for forestry crews, comprising elements that can pierce, sift, grasp and lift. It is durable thanks to its grade 50 steel composition. Forestry professionals trust the RRG to withstand rugged use when preparing the jobsite. The RRG bucket is also versatile — it can grasp onto logs so the skid steer can haul them away throughout the project.
The tooth bucket is the best skid steer attachment for roadwork. During roadwork projects, the skid steer’s primary role is moving dirt, so it needs a dependable attachment for digging into tough soil and hauling a high volume with every load. A well-made tooth bucket bolsters a skid steer’s ability to do its job and expedite the project.
Tooth buckets are large, ranging from 60 to 84 inches in width, around 21 inches in height, and roughly 36 inches in depth, depending on the model. A row of angled teeth points forward from the bucket’s lower lip. Combined, the bucket and teeth can carve into the soil and move a hefty load each time.
The best buckets feature durable steel, such as grade 50 low-alloy steel, to complement the skid steer’s powerful hydraulic lifting arms. Outside of digging and hauling dirt, a tooth bucket provides continual utility throughout the roadwork project. Tooth buckets can move chunks of concrete, demolish small structures, clear brush and carry materials around the site.
With a diverse selection of skid steer products for construction applications, Stinger Attachments offers many of the best roadwork attachments. Roadwork crews choose our skid steer tooth bucket for its strength and versatility.
A skid steer trencher is the best attachment for a landscaping crew to purchase. It consists of a chainsaw-like apparatus that projects from the front of the skid steer. A trencher can carve into tough soil at a precise and consistent depth.
A trencher is the best skid steer attachment for landscapers because it complements the machine’s core value. Skid steers help landscaping companies complete strenuous, labor-intensive tasks more efficiently. Digging a trench is hard work that can withhold one or more crew members from other important jobs. A skid steer trencher takes only a few minutes to complete a step that could take an hour to do manually.
Stinger Attachments offers numerous types of trenchers, including the Bigfoot XD trencher (BF) for skid steers. Our trenchers feature a unique design with the option to switch between three types of chains. Backed by our superior manufacturing and industry-leading warranty, the BF trencher is among the best skid steer attachments for landscaping.
Skid steer buckets are the most versatile attachments. A bucket can excavate the earth, grade land, carry heavy materials, grind minerals and demolish small structures.
A skid steer bucket is a profitable attachment for businesses across many industries. It’s also worth the investment for independent farmers. Bucket attachments are robust and versatile, reliably performing numerous functions from digging to hauling and demolition.
Stinger Attachments manufactures a broad range of skid steer buckets with distinct characteristics, such as tines, teeth, spears and grapples. When profitability depends on the use case, you can choose specialized skid steer buckets, such as material buckets, rock buckets or manure buckets.
At Stinger Attachments, we stand by our manufacturing quality and believe that our attachments are among the best on the market. Customers nationwide share their satisfaction with Stinger Attachments products and feel confident in choosing us for their future needs.
Read the skid steer’s OMM and the attachment’s specifications to confirm the attachment styles and that the attachment is safe to use with the steer, given its size and operating capacity.
A skid steer and its attachment must be of compatible sizes and weights. Attaching a tool that is too large or heavy for the skid steer could inhibit its mobility or damage its hydraulics system. Excessive attachment weight can also pose a tipping hazard.
Check the OMM and specifications lists to confirm that the skid steer is large enough and has a high enough lifting capacity to support the attachment given its size and weight. If information is not readily available before your purchase or application, contact the manufacturer to confirm anything you need to know.
A skid steer’s hydraulic flow and pressure determine its operating capacity and the attachments it can support. In addition to arm movement, the hydraulic system powers the attachments. The machine must offer sufficient pressure and flow for all its functions.
The critical metrics to confirm are flow in gallons per minute (GPM) and pressure in pounds per square inch (PSI). Some skid steers offer a specialized high-flow hydraulics system to support attachments rated as high-flow products. While a typical hydraulics system delivers 15 to 25 GPM, high-flow systems deliver 26 to 60 GPM.
A skid steer and any attachment you intend to use will feature one of several types of adapters, mounting plates or attachment styles. Read the specifications sheet or operation and maintenance manual (OMM) to determine the style that your skid steer or attachment uses.
Most modern equipment features the UQA system, which facilitates universal compatibility for skid steers and attachments from any manufacturer. UQA steers feature a frame and locking levers on the front. UQA attachments feature pins that the steer’s locking levers can grasp.
Attachment Adapters
You can use a three-point adapter to connect your steer’s mounting system and any attachment with a three-point hitch. A tractor’s three-point hitch will be one of Category 1, Category 2 or Category 3. The adapter and attachment must match the skid steer’s hitch category. The following are the most common types of adapters:
- Universal skid steer adapters allow multiple types of machines to use UQA attachments.
- Global Euro skid steer adapters allow domestic skid steers to use attachments from international manufacturers.
- John Deere skid steer adapters allow attachments designed for John Deere machines to be used on any brand’s skid steers with a universal mounting system.
- Bobcat skid steer adapters allow Bobcat attachments to connect to skid steers from alternate brands.
- Weld-on plates retrofit an attachment to make it compatible with a skid steer featuring a UQA system. Applying a weld-on plate requires professional services.
Skid steer attachments are not universal. Attachments manufactured before the 1970s may only be compatible with skid steers from the same brand. However, most attachments manufactured since the 1970s use the Universal Skid Steer Quick Attach (SSQA) system — also referred to as Universal Quick Attach (UQA) — as a common standard.
Beyond the attachment system, a skid steer’s specifications also influence attachment compatibility. Check the manuals for your skid steer and attachments for information about the connection interface and specifications.
